This Privacy Policy describes how SynCam (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the SynCam mobile application (the “App”) and our website at syncam.app (the “Site”). By using the App or the Site, you agree to this policy.
1. What SynCam does
SynCam is designed for synchronized photo and video capture across multiple phones on the same local network. Session data and media you create are primarily stored on your devices. The App uses local network and device-to-device connectivity so nearby phones can join a session and exchange capture timing and media as you use the product.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use SynCam, the following may apply:
- Photos, videos, and session content. Media you capture and files you save through the App are processed and stored on your device (and in your photo library if you choose to save or export there). We do not operate a cloud service for your session sync or media solely because you use SynCam in its core capture flow.
- Device permissions. The App may request access to your camera, microphone (when recording video with audio), photo library, and local network. These permissions are used to provide the features you initiate. You can review or change permissions in your device settings.
- Technical data on your device. Like most apps, SynCam may rely on standard iOS frameworks and may generate temporary or diagnostic data on your device (for example, caches or logs) as part of normal operation. We do not describe a separate SynCam analytics SDK in this policy; if we add analytics or crash reporting that sends data to us or a vendor, we will update this policy to describe what is collected and why.
- Website. If you only browse the Site, our hosting provider may process standard server or network logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request time) according to their practices. We use the Site to provide information about SynCam and links to this policy.
- Email. If you contact us at syncam.app@gmail.com, we receive the content of your message and your email address so we can respond.
3. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Sharing happens only in limited situations:
- Between your devices during a session. When you start or join a session, capture-related data and media may be exchanged between participating devices over your local network as part of the App’s functionality.
- When you choose to share. If you use optional sharing features (for example, sharing to social platforms or other apps), the destination service receives what you send according to its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control those services.
- Service providers. We may use third-party providers (for example, website hosting) that process limited technical information as needed to operate the Site.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of SynCam, our users, or others.
4. Retention
Media and session data you keep on your device remain under your control until you delete them. Email correspondence may be retained for as long as needed to respond and maintain our records. Website logs, if any, are retained according to our hosting provider’s configuration.
5. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you use SynCam at your own risk as described in our Terms of Use.
6. Children’s privacy
SynCam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise rights or ask questions, contact us at syncam.app@gmail.com. We will respond in line with applicable law.
8. International users
If you use SynCam from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the App or Site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
